Refund & Cancellation Policy

How digital purchases, print orders, and campaign contributions are handled.

Last updated: July 21, 2026

1. Digital books and audiobooks

Digital formats are delivered or made available immediately after a completed purchase. Because they can be accessed or copied, they are generally not returnable after delivery, except where required by applicable law or where there is a verified technical, duplicate-charge, or unauthorized-payment issue. Contact Support with the order reference and a clear description of the issue.

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom and buy a digital format, checkout requires you to request immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose the statutory 14-day withdrawal right for that digital content once delivery begins.

2. Print orders

Print books are sold by the author and shipped by that author. A buyer may request cancellation through Support before the order is marked shipped; availability depends on whether the author can stop fulfillment. If the order is not shipped by the promised time, the buyer must be offered a meaningful choice between a revised shipment date and cancellation with a prompt refund of the original payment. A refund for a delayed or unfulfilled order is not replaced with store credit unless the buyer freely chooses that option.

3. Defective, incorrect, or lost print books

Contact Support promptly with the order reference, photos where appropriate, and a description of the problem. We will coordinate with the author to assess replacement, reshipment, or refund under applicable law and the facts of the order. This policy does not remove any non-waivable consumer rights.

4. Book campaigns

Campaign contributions are patronage, not investments, and do not grant a share of future sales. Campaign-specific refund rules and milestones are shown before a contribution is made. If a campaign misses its stated goal or is otherwise refunded under its displayed terms, refunds are returned to the original payment method where practicable.

5. Sales tax and VAT

When Stripe Tax is enabled for the platform, applicable sales tax or VAT may be calculated and collected from the buyer at checkout and remitted through Stripe. Tax is not deducted from the author’s royalty on the list price. If Stripe Tax is not enabled for a given transaction, no sales tax is collected by Ndotonic at checkout.

These policies are a plain-language summary of how the service operates. They do not replace non-waivable rights under applicable law. Authors are additionally bound by the accepted Author Publishing Agreement and title-level listing terms.
