1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, such as your name, email, username, profile details, content, support messages, purchases, and publishing activity. We also collect technical and security information needed to operate the service, including device/browser data, logs, cookies or similar tools, and fraud-prevention signals.
2. How we use it
We use this information to operate and secure accounts, provide publishing and marketplace features, process purchases and payouts, respond to support requests, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service. We do not sell personal information as a standalone product.
3. Payments, public profiles, and providers
Stripe processes checkout and author payout details. Ndotonic does not receive or store full card numbers, security codes, or bank login credentials. Public listings may show a pen name, bio, cover, book details, reviews, campaign information, and other material you choose to publish; email addresses are not displayed on public listings.
4. Subprocessors
We use service providers (“subprocessors”) that process data on our behalf to run the product. Current categories include:
- Payments: Stripe (checkout, Connect payouts).
- Hosting / infrastructure: our cloud host (e.g. Render or equivalent) and related databases/storage.
- Email / messaging: transactional email providers used for account and order messages.
- AI features: Google Gemini and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech (and similar model providers) when you use optional AI editing, covers, or audiobook narration.
Providers process data under their terms and our instructions. Do not submit confidential third-party manuscripts or sensitive personal data to AI tools unless you have authority to do so.
5. Print shipping addresses
When you buy a print book, we collect your shipping address and share it with the author solely for fulfillment of that order. Authors agree not to use buyer addresses for marketing.
6. Your rights and requests
Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK GDPR and California CCPA/CPRA where applicable), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact Support from the email on your account and describe what you need. We will verify the request and respond within the time required by applicable law. Some records (completed transactions, fraud prevention, tax, and dispute records) may be retained as required.
7. Age
The service is for users who are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where they live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have such data, we will delete it.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies needed for login, security, and core product functions. Where required by law for non-essential cookies (for example analytics), we will seek consent before setting them.
Do not upload private, sensitive, or personal information about another person unless you have a lawful basis and any required permission to do so.
